Keylight

Another Chrome Experiment, but pretty much a finished article. Use pointer control and a double-click to create new nodules, then drag them to reposition them. The sound they make depends upon proximity and positioning.

Keylight plays a bit like a three-dimesional, free form tonematrix. And in the same way it rewards experimentation. Very different though is the ease of making a harmonious composition, which is still proving elusive (see video) at time of publishing!

"I can relive the dying moment of any corpse I touch."

"A teenager with no name and no home wanders from one city to the next, burdened by the weight of his extraordinary ability. When he is accused of murdering a woman that he's never met, he sets out to prove his innocence and find the true killer."

Jisei is a visual novel game, which means that it is an interactive graphic story. You take control of a character who is able to make choices at various points throughout the story .

"This work aims to be a factual documentary, explaining to young and old alike exactly how the mysteries of nature unfold."

TIHBW uses a simple but imaginative control scheme to allow you to move around a 3D environment with ease. Moving a mouse cursor will allow you to travel left/right and back. Playing the part of a rain cloud, you are able create flowers by releasing water onto the area directly below your position by pressing left click.

'It's 2027. Welcome to Britain.'

The Curfew is an online game that you control using only your mouse. The game is based in the near future and your mission is to make sure that some important information doesn't end up in the wrong hands.

The game does explain itself as you go along, although for me it felt like i was on a rollercoaster. It's a fast paced game so if your a slow reader like me then i wouldn't advise you to play it!

Soccer Balls

"Annoy the referee's by kicking balls at them!"

'Soccer Balls' describes itself as a 'soccer physics-based puzzle action game.' This sums the game up quite well and is perhaps why it can be found to be so engrossing. The puzzle element balances the ease of the gameplay action to create a game in which the main barrier to playing it successfully is finding ways round the obstacles between your team and a ball in the referees face.

Power Soccer

PC (opens in a browser) - Power Challenge Soccer

Power Soccer is a 3D football game, which is played in your browser. Meaning that whilst it is by no means Fifa or PES, it can be played on virtually any computer provided you have a good internet connection.

Pointer control can be used as the sole input for gameplay. Move the cursor to move the direction and dribble with a player whilst in posession. Click into space or on another player to pass. When the opposition has the ball tackle with a left click (or equivelant). To shoot on goal aim the cursor at the net and click as with tackling or passing.

Red Remover

PC (opens in a browser) - TheGameHomepage

A charming little game in the same vein as
Hungry Shapes and with the same ruthless message i.e. "Red shapes are MISERABLE. Remove them all by clicking on them."

Things start off slowly with the first levels simply aimed at teaching you the various ways of getting rid of the red shapes. As the levels progress and you are confident with the rules, you are challenged to think a little more for yourself, finding more and more imaginative ways of getting rid of the reds whilst leaving the cheerful greens happy and content on the screen.

Dreams

PC (opens in a browser) - difference games

Dreams is a relaxing spot the difference game with no time restrictions (though speedy players will recieve Time Bonuses) and no quick reactions required.

The game is entirely pointer controlled with a left click required for selection. The targets are fairly small, therefore accurate cursor control is required.

Each time you start to play 'Dreams' you will notice that the differences vary, extending the gameplay time and allowing for repeated play. Play with 'Hints' on or off. When 'Hints' are activated, the items deemed as differences will move slightly the first time a cursor is placed over one.

Plasma Tree

A lovely touchscreen (or any other pointer method) activity, requiring minimal input. Touch the screen (or left click when using a cursor) to start a new tree shoot growing. Fill up the screen with as many or as few as you like.

Due to the open nature of the activity and lack of any sort of time element, it lends itself well to pointer control and selection practice.

Trail 2 (of 3) is a great activity for practising cursor control whatever your access method.

The 'Trail' simply follows your pointer gradually filling up the screen as you progress.
