One Handed Controller (Right Hand) By Ben Heck
Last year we looked at the left hand version of this controller. Here we will take a look at the right hand one.
On first inspection, the controller appears like any other Xbox 360 controller on the right hand side. On the left side however you will notice a few changes.
Evil Controllers - '6 Switch' Xbox360 Controller
By Bill (R&D, SpecialEffect)

6 Switch
Xbox360 Controller
from Evil Controllers
Evil Controllers make both aesthetic and gameplay assisting
modifications to Xbox360 and PS3 controllers. In additon Evil
also make alterations to controllers to improve accessiblity with
their custom design service alongside a range of 'off the shelf'
designs. One such design is their '6 Switch'
controller.
At SpecialEffect we work with people with a wide range of
disabilities. Some issues, however, we see recurring again and
again. Obstacles such as a difficulty reaching some of the
buttons (often the triggers at the back) or being able to hold
down a button (such as to holding aim in in an FPS when a
'toggle aim' option is not available) are some of these common
occurances.
What Are Your Gaming Landmarks?
By Gavin (R&D SpecialEffect)
Having come up with the idea to do this article in the first place, I found it extremely hard to pin down what games, over the years, have left an indelible mark on me. I’ve been playing games for quite a few years now, so I’ve enjoyed a few, but sometimes you don’t get that “wow, that has completed changed my life!” feeling, sometimes the changes that happen to you as a gamer are subtle, without your knowledge but no less important.
I know that this intro sounds like me trying to justify why my list has no flow, theme, rhyme or reason (and I have got to be honest it kind of is), but having put the question to the GameBase community we have received back some great answers, which should make up for the guff that I've spewed out.

Botanicula is stunningly beautiful. The first screen of the game shows an ethereal glowing plant, hard-set against the dark background of the night sky. As I moved my cursor towards the plant its shoots moved towards it, yearning to be touched. A click on each of its buds made them burst into glowing life. Once they were all uncovered a spider appeared, ate them and then quickly dashed away. At that moment, I knew there and then, that this was a special game; it was only the first screen and already my emotions had been tweaked.
Botanicula doesn’t just look great but it also sounds great. Your speakers will be filled with beautiful ambient noise; birds chirping, the rustle of leaves as the wind blows through them; it’s all very relaxing and I found myself, when I was writing this review, choosing to keep the game running in the background just so I could enjoy the soundtrack.

Plants Vs Zombies (by Pop Cap
Games)
Available on PC,
Browser, Mac, Android phones, Windows phones 7, iPod, iPhone,
iPad, Nintendo DS, PS Vita, PlayStation 3 and
Xbox360

P's Vs Z's is a constant, reassuring feature on my Xbox. Always available for a quick, five minute, zombie bashing between browsing BBC iPlayer and a bout of Battlefield. The basic premise of the game is to protect your house from zombies using various repellents, which are mostly plant and fungi based. The steady rising in complexity of the game-play, and the difficulty of the levels, suits me perfectly and is something that Pop Cap does so well in all their games. Before you know it, you will find yourself weighing up the various merits of Fume-shrooms and Gloom-shrooms like a pro. Brainzzzz!
Adapted Remote Controlled Car Controller
By Bill (R&D, SpecialEffect)
SpecialEffect started working with Callum last summer on accessing his PS3 to play his favourite genre of video games: racing. He also asked us about whether we knew how he may be able to do one of his other hobbies again, racing RC cars.
Consequently, we got in contact with Mark Heath, who turned out to be the right man for the job. Mark was able to adapt the controller from the now standard controls of turning a small wheel on the side of the controller to steer the car, whilst using a trigger on the underside of the controller to accelerate and brake to just using one small joystick (that of a Wii nunchuck) to steer left and right as well as accelerate and brake. This enabled Callum to have full control of the car using his chin.

PS3 Chin/Mouth Control Setup
By Bill (R&D, SpecialEffect)
Some gamers who use their mouth, chin or tongue to play their Playstations and can interact with a standard PS3 controller (often utilising a game's re-mapping function).
For some, however, more leverage and height on the control sticks and the option to position switches in various more 'accessible' and reachable positions is required to replicate the controller buttons, such as using Gimpgear's Chin/Mouth/Tongue Controller Setup which, aswell as having a switch interface which replicates 100% of a PS3 controllers buttons, can also include additional mounted buttons on the front of the controller as well as sip/puff controls.

One Handed FPS Play - PS3
By Bill (R&D, SpecialEffect)
A short while ago we posted an article about a one handed setup for Xbox 360 to play FPS games which we created using a flight stick and an adapter which allowed you to remap a controllers buttons for easier use with complex games such as FPS'.
Here we show a similar a similar setup for PS3 play and another option below.
Setup 1:
This setup uses a wired flight stick, the Saitek AV8R for Xbox 360. It is combined with an XCM Swapper and an XCM Cross Battle Adapter 2.0 (it is essential to use this verion). Unfortunatley the flight stick doesn't work correctly with just the XCM Swapper and is inconsistent when used just with the Cross Battle Adapter. However, when used together the result is a reliable setup for either left or right hand only use on a PS3.
