Wii Fit Wheelchair Board, from Vivify.
"(Wii) Floor Board" from Vivify (Canada)

The plainly titled "Floor Board" from Vivify offers a way into the world of Wii-Fit for manual wheelchair users with the ability to shift their weight from side to side.

I first saw this type of thing with a prototype board and chair via the photos from the AbleGames 2009 event. My first chance to try it was at the TechnoTalk 2011 event in Kent earlier this week. And what fun it was for those who could use it! I particularly remember a young lad called James laughing his head off whilst  playing "Wii-Fit Soccer Heading", heading footballs and ducking flying football boots with accuracy within his wheelchair.

The price at time of writing this from Vivify was $125 Canadian Dollars, plus delivery and import tax. A rough estimate is around £180 all in. There's a really helpful list of recommended Wii-fit games here.

Some of the recommended games from Vivify include: Go Play Lumberjacks, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Super Monkey Ball Skip and Roll, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Plus and Winter Sports 2: The Next Challenge. For those with hardware skills, I'd say there's nothing to stop you from building your own too.
