V.I. Tennis

PC Windows - VI Fit (freeware)

VI Tennis brings a Wii Sports like experience to blind players. Using Wii remote controllers, sound, vibration and a little imagination.

Options are easily navigated, and include a one player against the computer, or a two player game. Players can also adjust the speed of the game, which is a must for beginners.

Controls
: I initially found this game tricky to set-up with a Bluetooth USB adapter, and if I was partially sighted or blind I would likely find it extremely difficult. Once connected though, all worked well. The menus are well designed, using the down button to cycle through the options, the A button to select, or the Trigger to step back. The recessed home key gets you back to the main menu. Serving requires an upright flick forward, and returning a ball requires a fore-hand, horizontal sweep.

Fascinating to see V.I. Tennis being played in Qatar in the Middle East (just off Saudia Arabia if you didn't know): http://switchgaming.blogspot.com/2010/07/accessible-gaming-in-qatar.html
