The 2010 Winter Olympic Games are well under way in Vancouver, and if you have been imagining what it may feel like to stand on that podium by doing something very dangerous, very fast, then you may want to give the Official Game a go and take part in your very own Winter Olympic Games.

As expected there are different events to take part in. Each has a quick, but essential tutorial. Play in your own events or tournaments, multiplayer offline or online or against the computer.

In general the controls are pretty paired down, with many events using the same or similar control methods (see video for more info).

Skiing or Snowboarding events can be chosen to be played at a less speedy pace by not leaning forward to increase speed. This consequently simplifies the controls to direction thumbstick plus 'A' to start. However this tactic can be seen to suit multiplayer only, where all players can follow this rule (or solo events). The Ski Jumping can be played with one button/switch ('A'), using good timing ('RT' and 'LT' are used to correct your self if your initial timing isn't so correct). The Aerials use the same method but with the thumbsticks used in addition to pull moves whilst in the air. The Luge, Bobsleigh and Skeleton use the Back Left and Right Triggers to lean with 'A' to launch and gather mommentum at the start. Many, of these games would also suit multiple players controlling different aspects of one participant, when using a switch interface e.g. one player controlling the 'A' button for Aerials whilst another does the moves whilst in the air.

Vancouver 2010 delivers on giving a quick fix of taking part in the Games, with simple gameplay controls allowing you to get involved straight away and concentrate on doing simple things well, to keep you improving your times and scores on each run.
