Across the 22nd to the 25th of September, 341 people entered the SpecialEffect EyeGaze Track Mania competition. 341 people playing an EyeGaze game at a mainstream gaming event was a record in itself.

The honours for the fastest time on Track Mania Nations (White - Race Three) looked like going to James Harkness with 21.95 seconds for well over a day. James kept coming back nervously hoping he'd not been beat, but mid-way through the competition Marc Lye took the glory with a blistering zen-cool lap time of 21.94 seconds. Congratulations!

Look out for the first accessible gaming record to be published in the Guinness World Records Gamer Edition 2011 due out in January 2012. Huge massive thanks to EuroGamer and everyone else involved who continue to support us. It was fun!

Great video here of Accessible GameBase member "PotatoJedi" hammering this record using EyeGaze and Alt-Controller but with a tweaked profile for greater speed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zRGZtLD3Cg

Love the screenshot and PotatoJedi video! I think he has mastered TM Nations with eye gaze! Alex - have u seen the profile I created for Funny Games Online Golf Ace? I'd be interested to know whether it's any good with eye gaze. Dunno if golf is your thing tho!
PS: I think the time quoted above got beaten by a chap called Jason. 21.23 maybe? Decent effort with those settings.

Cheers Tim. Shaz also clocked in under 20 seconds, and at the show, but as he was using his arcade stick and not on the official machine, that couldn't be counted. In the end, the 21.23 time was not recongnised as an official time on a technicality (but good call in the end).

Oh right, fair enough! I'm well chuffed that both Shaz and Alex nailed great laps. As for my lap, if I ... err ... claim a 5 second bonus for having to banter with that blond lady from the telly, then err ... a little help here???

That would be Julia Hardy. She can be a bit distracting with her 3 meter hair and rapid-fire talking. Great they filmed us though.
