Pure Football 2010

PS3 (tested)/Xbox 360 - Ubisoft
Pure Football 2010 (if at the end you have any questions, please comment) is a fun five a side football game and is easy to play for all age groups and can be played by multiple players.
The game can be played in a range of different gameplay modes that includes Normal and online and campaign were you have a range of 38 top international and club sides to pick from. The game menus are easily navigated using the left and right arrow keys on the left hand side of the controller. Normal mode can be played in quick play were the computer will set up a game for you or Exhibition were you can edit every detail of the game as you wish.
The gameplay can be edited in one of the game menus. You can change which style of football you want to play by changing everything from how to settle a tie e.g. you can toggle shootout on and off. You can play a timed game ( 2 mins, 5 mins or ten mins) or ‘FIRST TO’ were the game is won by the player who gets to 2 goals first (you can increase or decrease the amount of goals) you can also play ‘WIN BY’ were the winner is the player to win by a certain amount of goals ( 1, 2 , 3 etc...). In campaign you select a team and competion and compete, competitions range from knockout competitions to leagues and the prizes are generally trophies but you will also gain points to spend on your custom players and Teams. You can create your own team or player and even edit existing teams and players. Your can edit everything to do with your custom player from his boots to the size of his nose and when your done you can put him in a team and gain points that later you can use to improve his statistics. You can make your own team and put them up against the best teams in the world and improve them along the way.
The controls are quite simple and can be quickly and easily learned in the game tutorial. The controls can be changed but the only other setting is the same except the square and circle buttons are swapped around. In attack (in possession) the camera view is from behind the goal facing the oppositon goal and this cannot be changed. To control the player use the left analogue stick and to sprint press R2, you can also move the right analogue stick to use skills to get past players. X is to pass, square for a high pass or a cross, triangle for a through ball and circle for a power shot and combine R1 and circle to get a skill shot. Aim all ball actions with the left analogue stick. Power shots and high passes must be timed correctly to be effective, a colour timer will appear whilst you are pressing the shoot or cross buttons and to get a pure shot you must place the shot in the white area and for a good shot in the green but leave it to late or if it is to early it will be a poor shot and will be off target. Once you have made a pure shot no matter what timing you give the next it will be a pure shot/cross. All points gained in pure shots will fill up your pure shot meter. Press L1 to swap player but this only applys when you are in multiplayer and on the same team and R1 is to drop the ball whilst you are the goalkeeper. Using the left and right arrow keys will change your formation and up and down will raise and lower your agression level. In defence (without possesion) the camera view is the same as in attack and so are many of the buttons. To control the players use the left analogue stick, press R2 to sprint , to tackle press L2, to swap player press L1. X pressures the attacker, circle calls in a second defender and square is to slide tackle but be careful the more slide tackles you do the more the penalty meter will fill up and when it is full a penalty will be given. Triangle is to keeper charge an attacker. To change formation press the left and right arrow keys and to raise and lower aggression levels use the up and down arrow keys. To pause press the start button.
Overall it is a good gaming experience and if you like football games you must try it.
