PlaystationHome is available on the PlaystationNetwork, when a PS3 is connected to the internet. It is an online world in which you initially create an Avatar (which can be adapted and developed), who will represent you within the community to meet people, make friends or play games.

You control your characters directional movement using the left thumbstick. In addition, you can use the right stick to look about. To make gestures press the R1 button to bring up a toolbar conteining various actions, such as wave, dance etc. To say a standard phrase such as 'Hello!' or 'Thanks!' etc, press the L1 button to open a phrase toolbar. Alternatively you can press the 'triangle' button to bring up the message interface (controlled using the PS3 controller) or type directly using a keyboard.

The online world includes a shopping mall, a cinema, a bowling alley, and outdoor games such as chess and draughts.

The controls for all games require few controls. For example chess and draughts use the left thumbstick and the 'X' button, as does pool, bowling and the arcade games.

PlaystationHome is a relaxed place to play games with others online, make friends and catch the latest info on future games releases.

It can be played for free on a PS3 with an internet connection.
