The aim and gameplay of Microbe Kombat is similar to flow. You are a microbe, which searches for proteins in order to make yourself grow. As you grow you also receive action abilities such as split to multiply and create allies, of which you can use another action ability to change control.

As you get bigger you can also eat any opposing microbes, which are smaller than you. The same is true of your larger enemies, who can eat you, making the game quite tactical in terms of timing and choices. As you progress you will come across virus’, which can infect you. Once infected your number of action abilities will be cut, and can prove fatal.

The game is pointer controlled with your microbes following your cursor movement (no dragging is necessary). To select the action buttons you left click on the boxes down the right hand side of the screen. Pause is the ‘P’ button. Microbe Kombat has simple controls, which lends itself well to various pointer control methods including eye and head control.
