Whilst appearing confusing on first impression, within minutes the one button controls of Herder become natural and intuitive.
The aim is to contain the floating red and blue circles within your snake-like grasp to gain points. Holding the left mouse button allows you to move counter-clockwise and turns you red, allowing you to capture the red circles. Releasing the button moves you clockwise and returns you to a blue colour, with which you are able to capture the blue circles.
The simple input method combined with an unusual, yet soon familier feeling control mechanism, makes for an (almost) instantly accessible game. Herder shows the engaging and elaborate control, which can be had using a just a one button input method.
