Growing with Timocco is a collection of five simple motion-controlled games in which the player controls the movements of Timocco the monkey.   It is played on a standard PC using a webcam.  The player holds a soft coloured ball in each hand (the balls can also be strapped to hands if holding them is a problem).   The balls are tracked by the webcam and moved around to play the games.  The games can be played sitting down or standing up and the amount of movement required can be controlled by how close the player is to the camera.

You can pop bubbles, burst balloons, catch falling fruit, play kitchen drums and uncover hidden pictures.  All five games have various levels which will suit a variety of ages and abilities.  They are gentle, uncompetitive games and timing skills are only required within the higher levels.

All the games require the webcam to register both hands to start the games (or a mouse click).  After that, games can mostly be played one-handed (except levels that have been specifically designed to encourage bi-lateral function).   A particularly nice feature is that you can choose the play the games using a mouse, which makes them accessible to people who need to use pointer control (mouse, mouse alternative or eye-gaze).

Timocco is being marketed very much as an educational and therapeutic tool, but it is also a lovely accessible group of games that will appeal to children of all ages.
