Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is, as the title hints, a preview of what we should expect to see from the much anticipated (not to mention much delayed) next installment in the racing simulator series.

With 60 cars, 6 tracks (with 12 variations) and online racing as well, this isn't your average demo. In addition, the game also comes with a full options menu including controls. This is where it stands above much of its competition, leading the way for many in terms of it's button and controls cusomisation features.

Almost any combination of controls is possible, whether you want to accelerate with one of the thumbsticks, one of the buttons or a trigger it's pretty much up to you. With this wealth of options you are able, for instance, to pair down all the racing controls to just one thumstick or the d-pad e.g. move it forward to accelerate, back to brake and left and right to change the direction.

Fingers crossed that we will see these features in Gran Turismo 5 proper as well as other developers taking note of the importance of fully configurable controls options in their future releases allowing individuals to tailor them to their own abilities and tastes, whilst opening their games up to many more people to be able enjoy them.

Ooo. I like the look of that very much. About time too! All games should have a way of doing this. Impressed.
