Battle Dawn is an online strategy-based browser game. The main goal of the game is to attempt to be the strongest player at the end of the era (the amount of time a map/world is playable until it ends) and to help your alliance become the strongest. This is done by creating units and conquering other players' castles and outposts, which in turn increases your score and ranking (there are many ways to boost your score). Battle Dawn is free to play, but like most games players have the option of purchasing "Tokens" to give themselves a "Boost" and thus become more powerful.

The game is entirely playable with nothing but a mouse, however typing ability may be necessary in order to communicate with other players. Dragging the mouse is one way of scrolling around the map, but you may also click on an area on the map window to focus it on that point as well as using the arrow keys. You may use the -/+ keys to zoom in and out or you can use the buttons located near the map window. Speed and quick reflexes is not necessary. A "tick" (turn) lasts between 20 and 60 minutes (depending on what world you play) which gives you ample time to do what you need to. The only thing you may have a slight problem with is when you need to select a large number of units very often. If you are able to hold down the shift key and click on a unit, it will select that unit and everything in between the next unit that you click. If you are not able to, you can use the built-in on-screen keyboard on your computer to turn the shift key on and off. You may also use the control key to select units one by one.

The game requires a player to be fairly active if they wish to succeed. This also means that because the game never "pauses", a player is vulnerable to attack even when they're not logged into the game, making defence and co-operation with your allies a key factor. The game is not only about brute force and massive armies, but also about diplomacy and strategy.

A player cannot be "killed" or removed from the game by another player. You can still play even if you get conquered, however this means you cannot conquer other castles until you are liberated (no longer conquered). Another advantage to conquering other castles is that you receive 10% of their resources as a tax, meaning that the more you conquer, the more powerful you will grow.

Excellent first review, Alex. Nice one. Not the sort of game I'd normally review (as I'm rubbish at them) so I'd doubly chuffed that you're into this type of game. Thanks so much. Really looking forward to your next review.

Lol thanks :D. I'm used to writing long explanatory things anyway. I wasn't quite sure how to put a direct image on, but it looks like you substituted it for another one. I'm more used to BB codes lol.

I might write another one soon.

This system does take a bit of getting your head round, I must admit. Bill has made a handy how to do reviews video here: http://www.gamebase.info/videos/view/how-to_276.html - And there's some more basic tips in the comments section. Please do write another one!!
