Light Pressure Glove Switch - AccessAble Games (cost on request)

The GameBase was recently donated a Switch Glove with thanks to Javier Mairena of AccessAble Games in Spain. We love the simplicity of design, and how well they work with standard switch interfaces.

It works great with one-switch games such as Canabalt seen below (although Bill admits he was out of practice when he made the video). To find out more and to get in touch with AccessAble Games, read on...

'AccessAble Games work with video game developers to make their games more accessible to people with disabilities, finding specific design and technical solutions for each game.

Also, they help individuals, institutions and organisations to access video games; including controller adaptations if necessary.'

Can I ask just how sensitive this is? As in, does it pickup the electrical signals in your muscles, or is it just a regular switch attached to a glove?

It's really sensitive, but it is just two contact pads. Touch them very lightly together to complete a circuit. It's a glove with some wire mesh stitched into the glove then wired up to a 3.5mm mono plug. Works well.

It's a really simple cheap solution. It is only a glove with tow meshes (like the one used against mosquitoes) conected by a wire with a 3.5mm mono jack plug.

It's only an expample, you can add tow meshes to anything that you want: trousers, t-shirt, chair, table... and with the size that you need.
