Wii - Ubisoft

Raquet Sports Party offers Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Squash and Beach Tennis in various different game modes and locations, to keep swinging your Wiimote fresh for multiple gaming hours.

WiiMotion plus controllers can be used to increase realism and accuracy. Gameplay requires no button presses (once you are in a game swinging of the Wiimote is all that is needed). Different strokes can be used for advanced players e.g. lob, top spin, drop shot etc, but forehand, backhand and serve will cover most shots.

Plasma Tree

Plasma Tree Screen Shot.jpg
PC (opens in a browser) - mhepekka

A lovely touchscreen (or any other pointer method) activity, requiring minimal input. Touch the screen (or left click when using a cursor) to start a new tree shoot growing. Fill up the screen with as many or as few as you like.

Due to the open nature of the activity and lack of any sort of time element, it lends itself well to pointer control and selection practice.

Trail 2 (of 3) is a great activity for practising cursor control whatever your access method.

The 'Trail' simply follows your pointer gradually filling up the screen as you progress.

Canopy is released as part of the 'Chrome Experiments', which explore the possibilities  of JavaScript in order to make the web 'more fun, faster and more open.'

Canopy requires pointer control, with occasional mouse clicks to choose options such as 'Bloom' and 'Mutate' which alter the branches appearance. Once 'Play' is pressed you will start flying through the tree canopy. Move your cursor to change direction.

Simple and addicting gameplay, slick stylised graphics and competitive multiplayer contests make this browser based Basketball game a 'must play' for pointer control gamers.

Played in an immersive full screen mode, the aim is to use your cursor to control the tradjectory of the ball, with a click of the the left mouse button (or equivelant) launching the ball. The controls suit any method of accurate pointer control, with the additional neccessary ability to use a controlled mouse click (or equivelant selection method).

Music Catch 2

PC (opens in a browser) - Reflexive Entertainment

Music Catch 2 retains the simplicity (sound, graphics and gameplay) which made the original so appealing, whilst adding new songs, levels and a few subtle new features.

The aim, as before, is to move your target around the playing area, collecting as many of the shapes which appear as possible, whilst avoiding the red ones. Each level last the length of a song (which impacts on the frequency that the shapes are released). You will progress the level no matter how few points you gain. After each level you will unlock new songs, shapes, patterns and motions from which you can create your own levels. Your progress will be retained next time you visit the site.

Shoot 1UP

Shoot1UP.jpg
Xbox 360 - Mommy's Best Games (80 points Xbox Live Indie Arcade)

Bullet-hell shooter Shoot 1UP is a ferocious one or two player Xbox 360 game. It has some slightly saucy graphics, great game play and stonkingly good accessibility features.

The aim of the game is pretty basic: Blow up enemies, collect power-ups to get more powerful, avoid enemies and their bullets, score high. That's about the size of it, played against imaginative backgrounds and frenetic music. Rowdy!

JazzBall

By One Switch

PC Windows - Graeme's Free Games (freeware)

JazzBall was written after a suggestion was made to us by Sandra Robertson. She wondered if the old Microsoft game JezzBall might suit a more accessible interface and could perhaps become a fun game that both her children could play. Thanks to Graeme Singh taking up the challenge, they now can. Nice.

The aim of the game is to draw horizontal or vertical blocks across any available gaps, avoiding being hit by balls whilst you do so. If you manage to reach both sides of the gap without being hit, a section of a hidden picture will be revealed. Manage to reveal the majority of the screen and you'll progress to the next level. You can use your own pictures too, which can be immense fun.

Tig Duels: For Extraordinary Gentlemen and Such Etc.

By One Switch

PC Windows - Oxeye Games (freeware)

En Garde! "Tig Duels: For Extraordinary Gentlemen and Such Etc." is a wonderfully silly one-switch fencing game for two players.

You can tease your opponent, attack, retreat and block all using a single control. You can even play against people on-line. Such duels are initiated through a slightly more complex interface to get started, and involves slapping a glove across your chosen opponents face!
