Accessible Dance Games
By One SwitchOn the back of my daughter's love of Dance Dance Revolution machines, Hand Dance Pro and with SpecialEffect support, I recently built a one-switch interface for DDR games. Play this for yourself at the REPLAY Expo in November, or read on for more.
REPLAY: One-switch Minestorm (1982)
By One SwitchThe second oldest game making its way to the SpecialEffect stand at the Replay Expo will be Minestorm for the MB Vectrex, dating from 1982. This mighty-fine vector-scan game has been adapted to be played with a single switch: Hyperspace.
Switch Accessible Music
By One Switch

Today, we were
approached by a teaching assistant at Temple Moor High School in
Leeds, asking about switch accessible music:
His question was: "This year I am working with [a student] who told me about the great work that you do for people with disabilities. I want to allow [this student] and his peers to program drum beats using the music softwear we have in school. Basically I need to get three or more switches to trigger notes on a softwear sampler on PC/Mac. The softwear I am most likely to use will be Logic Pro".
This got me thinking about switches and free on-line drum machines as a starting point...
Fotonica
By BillGameBase
"A first person game about jumping, sense of speed and discovery. The key is timing, the goal is exploring and traveling flawlessly through the environment."
Fotonica uses one button gameplay to heighton the sense of freedom and immersion of its thoroughly absorbing gameplay.
To play, hold any key or mouse button to run and then release it to jump. The menu's can be navigated using one button (press to scan, hold to select). At the end of your go either press 'R' to restart or wait a short while for it to automatically restart.
Flabby Physics
By One Switch
Deform a shape with SPACE BAR, to bounce your ball into the star. Incredibly hard at times, but quite fun just to mess around with. High contrast graphics. Catchy kazoo music. That just about sums it up!
One Button Arthur by Armor Games
By Jack
One Button Arthur (on-line) - Armor Games
One button Arthur is an enjoyable, highly addictive and at times frustrating game where you have the legendary king Arthur under the control of a single button.
This game does sound simple because it is controlled by the left mouse button but that isn't the case. In one button arthur you must lead Arthur on a quest through dungeon mazes and mountains with obstacles and enemies which constantly test you with puzzling challenges to reach the next level.
Iron Terror
By BillGameBase
PC (opens in a browser) - Armor Games
Iron Terror continues the increasingly popular genre of "auto runner's" with typically simple and gripping gameplay where timing and reactions are everything.
You are a spaceman in an apocolyptic city with a giant robot (The Iron Terror) chasing you. The aim is to travel as far as you can.
Press the spacebar (or the X key) to jump or hold it to use your jet pack to avoid obstacles. You can use bombs to gain some distance by passing through them as they hang in the air. When your run comes to an end, press your jump button to give it another go.
Bimmin
By rogerkid1

Bimmin is one button online
game, freely available from the likes of Bored.com.
The aim of the game is to get away from the dinosaur as fast as
you can with out tripping over. The gameplaycontrols are just
space to jump.
To end a go and return to the menu you will
have to go down the hole in the ground or get eaten by the
dinosaur. Both of these terminate your game. To retry
simply press space again.
Neon Guy
By BillGameBase
PC (opens in a browser) - Jens Winterstein
Use solely either the space bar or left mouse button to control your characters actions and travel from one side of the screen to the other. The available action depends on his current colour e.g. when green his action is jumping, when orange he can stop still (good for avoiding dropping objects etc) and when blue you can change the gravitational pull on them. The colour changes as you pass over the corrensponding coloured cubes.
Proteus
By One Switch

PC - Twisted Tree Games
Proteus takes third person shoot-em-up controls, in a world where there's no fighting, no enemies, no guns. It's a beautiful thing. You just explore.
This left me thinking that all 3rd Party shooters should have a Peace mode, where you can turn your back on all the fighting, and just travel around the game environment for stress-free pleasure.
