Gone Accessible Fishing

By One Switch
Captain Birdseye.

It's not all accesible video games. We're interested in all kinds of leisure activities made more accessible. In the full post below, you'll find a few alternative ways to go fishing. If they're not enough, YouTube also has remote control boat and RC helicopter fishing. Poor fish...

The Nintendo wii game The Explorer and the Mystery of the Diamond Scarab is available. For the first time, children with and without visual impairment can play together on an equal level. In addition to the positive effect of playing unhindered with peers on the same level, this game also contributes to improving motoric functions and physical coordination. Royal Dutch Visio announced the game on March 25th 2011. Due to delay in the process of approval it was not available sooner.

PC (opens in a browser)

This is the new game of the Rypi console (
C1ic.mx), it's called "Fruit Ninja Kapow", based on the original game "Fruit Ninja" created by HALFBRICK.

The only reason for this version is to bring the actual expirience of the game in a very accessible way, as the other games and the console itself tha game can be controlled using just one switch.

Techno Kitten Adventure

By zippedyzipzang
Techno-Kitten3.jpg

Available on: Xbox360, iPad, iPod/iPhone, Facebook, Android and Windows Phones- Elite Gudz and 21st Street Games

Warning - If you have an aversion to flashing images do not play this game, because at certain points it seems like TKA’s sole purpose, it’s raison d’etre, is to give you as large a headache as it possibly can.

You take control of various kittens- kittens with jet packs, kittens shaped like hotdogs and kittens that barf rainbows and the aim is simply to get a high score. Your score accumulates the whole time that you’re alive, so it’s all about staying alive for as long as possible. You have an unlimited amount of lives and the levels are on an infinite loop, but touching any of the cute little twinkly stars, that you come across causes death and your score to be reset.

One of the game’s big draws to me is it’s simple one button interface. You hold the A button (on Xbox360 or touch anywhere on-screen with the iPad, iPod or Android versions) to go up the screen and let go to drop down it.

Skoog Musician in Mainstream Orchestra

By One Switch

Skoogmusic YouTube Clip

In the very early days of the Skoog, before it was called the Skoog, this was the hope: That this accessible instrument would be a way into the mainstream for otherwise disabled musicians. Looks like it's happening. Fantastic!

iPod, iPad - 5th Cell

This game is a good’un, a simple concept but with huge challenge if you choose to accept it. The story is explained in one screen’s worth of storyboard. You’re a kangaroo skipping happily along with your little blue friend, then suddenly little blue friend gets snatched and you have to make your way to Sydney Zoo to get him back- job done!

Fruit Ninja HD

By GillianSpecialEffect

Fruit Ninja iPad Screenshot.png

Fruit Ninja is everywhere – even available for Xbox Kinect now - but not everyone has the ability to play it. However, we have Fruit Ninja HD on our iPad 2 and if you go into Zen mode, you can play by just resting your hand on the screen and occasionally making a slight movement of your fingers. No nasty bombs to avoid, just lots of satisfying squished fruit! See how many you can squish in 1.5 minutes.

Orbital

By GillianSpecialEffect

Orbital iPad Screenshot.png

Orbital is a very simple but pretty addictive game. We’ve got the free version on our iPad 2. The fantastic thing about this game is that you can play it with very little movement. If you can manage a very light touch anywhere on the playing area and have the ability to time your touch accurately, you can play. Every time you touch the screen, an orb is launched. When it stops, it grows until it touches either the edge of the play area or another orb. You have to clear them away by touching them 3 times with other passing orbs. You score a point for each one cleared (maximum score 16 on the free version).
