SpecialEffect's accessible GameBase

Hi

I'm an adult having to learn scanning/switches at a later time in life (over 40!) due to a progressive neurological disorder.

Alot of switch games seem to be aimed at children learning this skill, I wondered if there were any simple games like dominoes or card games that could be played via scanning/switches?

I am learning to use Switch XS so it could be one thats downloadable for Macs (OS X 10.5.8)and would work with that or one that is on an internet site which can be accessed regardless of what computer you are using?

I tried some but if the switch needs to be assigned to a specific place they don't seem to work. I have 2 buddy buttons available connected via a switch box on a Joystick plus.

Can you do a 1 or 2 switch version of Scrabble? I love playing that against computer or another person.

Apparently reason some don't work is cos the people set it for spacebar to do the action and my joystick plus doesnt have a switch output for spacebar.

Can you make sure people could chose 'left click' or 'spacebar' to connect their switch to?

Hi Kati,

We will definately make sure that left click is an option in the chess game.

Scabble is a great idea, I will put the idea forward and get some ideas from the programmer on how complex this may be to make from scratch. Definately a project for the future though.

Thanks, I know the basics of Chess, I just never managed to beat either person or computer at it yet!

I'm much better at scrabble and Lexulous! (or any other type of word game)

Would something like Boggle be easier? where words are kind of in a block then you can scan to select the cube you want with letter you want on?
