This section is for listing the easiest games and interactive toys available, that may be suitable for those starting off, or finding traditional games too hard. So, for starters....

SEN Switcher (PC/Mac):

controls: SPACE BAR (mouse menu system)

A fantastic starting point for teaching tracking and switch skills. Ranging through, something happens that you can see and hear (in your choice of colours), to press a switch and something happens, to timing skills.

Knee Bouncers (PC/Mac on-line):

Very young themes (aimed at pre-toddlers), but potential fun for anyone. Not all switch presses will trigger a sound on some activities, so needs some pre-planning to get the best out of it.

Penalty! (PC/Mac):

controls: SPACE BAR or mouse

Football (aka Soccer) penalty shoot-outs. Various control methods are supported, including a one-button mode that waits indefinitly for you to hit the switch, before taking a shot at the goalie. Vivid cartoon art and sound effects really bring this to life.

Control a Rainbow. A great way to teach someone how a basic joystick works (map the controls of choice to up,down, left and right - using the likes of JoyToKey) - or even switch use. Might be show someone how to control more than one-function using a single switch and 4Noah. Get in touch with us for more on this, if you need help to set this up. The full controls available are: W and S keys (speed adjustment) - A and D to turn - Q and E to twist and SPACE BAR for "try it!". You can use the cursor keys too.

Frog (PC/Mac on-line)

controls: VOICE

If your PC has a microphone, all you need is your voice, or something that makes a noise, to make the Frog speak. Quite a laugh! Recommend Window 7's built-in screen magnifier to make the frog fill the screen.

This website offers loads of great games such as jigsaws (of which you can choose the number of pieces they are made up from), dominoes, darts catapulting frogs and loads more, most of which can be played with either switches or pointer control. The website has an easy to follow layout and the games are thoughtfully made.

Wonderful web-art-toy thing. With the effects on, it's a great cause and effect activity that will end up with some art. Good way to also learn some basic scan and select skills that may help with games and more.

Tuke Sprint created six prototype interactive toys, that are brilliantly accessible, once set-up correctly. Running on PCs or Macs, these are free at the moment.

Read all about them here: http://www.gamebase.info/magazine/read/tuke-sprint_374.html
