Hello
I am an occupational therapist from Brazil and I have a patient
with
muscular dystrophy. He has a playstation (1 or 2, I have to check)
and
he's complaining that he can no longer play, because he's not able
to
hold the controller with both hands, because his both wrists are
too
flexed. So I thought the best solution would have to be to "split"
the
controller, and it was exactly what I discovered with this
HORI's
Separate Controller! Unfortunately I wasn't able to find it for
sale.
Could you help me with any information? I would really appreciate
it.
Thank you very much.

Hi Raquel.
When things progress beyond holding separate controllers, there are
a range of custom solutions that are possible to suit individual
disabilities.
See http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=LEPMIS&aq=f
for some of them
I only have solutions for the PS3 at the moment.
Best regards,
Geoff

just to add that in case you didn't know
genuine sony dualshock controllers are pretty much the heaviest
(apart from the wireless ones)
cheap controllers without dualshock weight a lot less
that is because dualshock is the thing that vibrates in the
controller, for that purpose there are 2 motors in the
controller
I don't know what kind your patient is using, but it's worth the
try
I own a 5$ ps2 pad from ebay that weights almost nothing

Hi Raquel,
I will be picking up the Hori Separate Controller today and will
courier it to you straight away to try out. Hopefully it will get
through customs easily enough and be with you before not too
long!

Just for any other people who may be interested, we've loaned
Raquel a skinny Mini Joytech joypad for a PSone and PS2, as well as
the HORI Separate controller. Fingers are crossed that one of these
will be a solution.

Hi Raquel, Thanks for e-mailing to let us know that the skinny
JoyTech controller arrived. Have you received the HORI Separate
yet? Had a chance to try them out yet with your client? Our fingers
are crossed that one of these are going to work out well. Best
wishes, Barrie www.GameBase.info

Quick update e-mailed from Raquel:
"no, the Hori hasn't arrived yet. Unfortunately the other one
didn't quite work out. As I suspected he can no longer hold the
same controller with both hands like he told me he could. I
photographed him and I'll send the pictures as soon as
possible."
We'll keep trying...

Hi Raquel,
I think that the Hori Separate must have got lost is the post
somewhere between here and Brazil!
Is it ok if I send you some others to try, which he won't need to
hold in his hands (they rest on a surface)?
All the best,
Bill

Hi Bill.
Before i start this email, i think i should thank you again for
all the trouble you guys are going through to help me and my
patient.
Anyway, I can't tell for sure whether the Hori Separate really
got lost. The brazillian post office administration had a little
hiccup in the last two months, the director got fired a few days
ago, it was ugly... That means a few packages went missing and
others are up for a delay.
Just as an exemple, i thought i had a lost international package
since it went missing for 55 days. Yet it arrived in my house in
the 60th day, without a scratch. So we cant, yet, tell for sure
that the Hori Separate really got lost.
So, I guess we should wait another week or two. If the controller
really do fail to arrive at my house, then I'll accept your
offer.
Best regards and thank you once more

Hi Raquel,
I posted one yesterday (weight restrictions meant I could only post
one at a time). Let me know how you get on and we'll go from
there.

Such fashion industry event as fashion week is a great promotion
opportunity for Juicy
Couture Sale fashion designers and fashion houses. Setting the
latest trends such events are held throughout the world, chemises paul smith but certainly
the most notable are the ones held in the centers of world fashion
– New York, Paris, Milan and London. The goal of fashion week is
Ed Hardy Homme not
just to demonstrate what is in fashion, Vestes Ralph Lauren but to prepare
the audience for the approaching trend. Therefore fashion weeks are
held in advance every six months and buyers with mass media are
given information on fashion in the coming season. New York is
always the first in the schedule with London following it and
Abercrombie Fur Jackets
Milan, while Paris completes the list. The fashion week in London
this year was the tribute to the recently deceased fashion designer
McQueen. One Pull
Franklin Marshall of the most spectacular shows was arranged by
Burberry with the help of digital innovation effects. The show was
streamed live on the Internet. There is a Juicy Couture Purses trend of
bigger popularity of such shows all over the world with extended
reflection in mass media. Microblogging seems to be very popular in
fashion and Spider
Jackets there is no need any longer to Ralph Lauren Herren wait for
some reports concerning fashion events from central channels. Any
person is able to make it. This new trend was especially strong in
the context of current fashion week in New York robes de cocktail. Real time media
were able to give a review of everything happening on the catwalk
and anywhere else. About 50% of all those who came to Fashion week
used Twitter and discussed all events online. The coverage of the
events in 53 % of the cases was via unofficial sources, such as
blogs. The news were published and republished, Moncler Jackets pictures were sent
and linked. All this had a great impact upon Ceintures Burberry Pas Cher
the event. It is also noted that many non-professional reviews are
rather interesting and not worse than reviews of professional
fashion experts.
