hi all, i was looking into a infrared receiver transmitter for my pc to control my tv and anything else that use ir signals and i found this http://www.usbuirt.com/ , in the description of the device it had a link to some software http://www.promixis.com/girder.php there is some other interesting software there too. anyway these 2 things seem prety cheap but im not sure if thats what i need.

so my question is if i bought the ir receiver/transmiter and the girder software could i control all my ir devices?

if i remember right the wireless xbox 360 controlers use infrared signals, so i could control that too hopefully, correct me if im wrong.

thanks in advance for any help :)

Hi IvanTheGrand, I haven't any experince with that exact device and software, but use a similar device but with Tira and Gewa IR signals. I use them with The Grid 2 software: http://www.smartboxat.com/software/the-grid-2/ You can train them using the remote control of the device you want to control via your PC. This is done by recording the signal (by literally aiming the remote at the IR transmitter) onto you PC software. You can then interact with the software on your PC to transmit the signals via the device. Girder looks really interesting. I'll try out the free trial for sure. Bill
